Alpacas make all sorts of sounds. Although I have not researched to read official names on all of them, these are most of what we have heard in our herd:

• Hum

• Orgle

• Alarm

• Scream

• Consternation

• Snort

• Sneeze

• Cough

• Breathing Rattle

Obviously, some are normal. Others are not and require a vet’s attention. Here’s hoping you hear mostly the serene hum of a contented and healthy herd!
